AT CIRENCESTER’S Brewery Blues on April 11, the evening kicked of with a terrific set by Sinéad Claire who has a wonderful voice and writes some seriously good songs. The audience gave her a great reception and if you get a chance to see her perform live then you should go, you won’t be disappointed.
Next on was Steve Ferbrache a singer guitarist who performed his own material. Steve has a great voice and some sharp lyrics; I particularly enjoyed the song about Captain Morgan.
The Newboulds band played some great funk and got the audience up and dancing, complemented by some great saxophone playing from Leigh Abbosh.
Headlining the evening were the Charlton Blues Kings who hale from the ‘gritty’ east side of Cheltenham and played some lively blues fronted by singer Tony Berry in his bright red suit; a really entertaining act with some great guitar and harmonica playing.
Star of the evening for me was Sinéad Claire.
If you haven’t made it to a Brewery Blues evening in Cirencester’s Brewery Court then what are you waiting for? The next evening is on May 9 with the Jess Vincent trio.
