LOCAL performer Chloë of the Midnight Storytellers makes her Cheltenham Poetry Festival debut tomorrow at 7.30pm at the Copa bar (66 Regent St, Cheltenham) with Tales of Lust & Chocolate.

The one hour show, at the affordable ticket price of £5 or £4 for concessions, is a melt in the mouth selection of traditional and original stories, ranging from passionate Worcester porcelain to steamy Thai romance.

Delivered in wicked stand-up style, the material is lightly spiced but not blue and is designed to entertain adults. Not suitable for under 15s.

“It’s storytelling - but not as you know it,” said Chloë, who lives on a farm near Northleach.

“I love doing this show. It’s funny, naughty and swooningly romantic. Mind you, I call myself a raconteur because what I do is still unusual as an entertainment. That also means I’m perpetually on the hunt for opportunities to perform, so I’m most grateful to Cheltenham Poetry Festival for including me.”

For nearly 15 years Chloë has pioneered adult story cabaret around the UK and overseas, taking her high energy performances to a vast range of venues from Cheltenham Literature Festival to studio theatres, rural touring schemes, arts and music festivals, radio stations, National Trust and other heritage sites, fantasy conventions, weddings and even on cruise ships.

Tickets can be purchased from Cheltenham Town Hall, either in person, online via cheltenhamtownhall.org.uk or by calling 0844 576 2210.

The 2014 Cheltenham Poetry Festival runs from Friday, March 28 to Sunday, April 6 at various venues in Cheltenham; award winning plays, cabaret nights, specially commissioned poetry cinema, poetry bands and much more.
