ART@Aldsworth, based at Aldsworth Village Hall, recently held their seventh annual exhibition and one of the show’s highlights was the giant painting of an Indian Market.
Twenty five members of the group each randomly picked a section from a cut up photograph – the subject of which was unknown to them.
Each artist reproduced an enlarged section in their own styles/media and without conferring with the painters of adjoining sections or referring to the original. The resulting ‘grid’ painting came together to form a depiction of the photograph.
The painting, approximately 60” x 45”, made up of 25 9” x 12” rectangles needs a permanent home. Anyone interested in buying it can contact Gaynor Atherton on 01453 885267.
