CHARLOTTE'S WEBB (U) Wilbur the piglet (voiced by Dominic Scott Kay) is saved from slaughter by the farmer's daughter (Dakota Fleming). Now too big for the house, Wilbur is sent to live in a barn where a clever spider (voiced by Julia Roberts) saves him again. Adorable.
RATATOUILLE (U) Remy (voiced by Patton Oswalt) adores haute cuisine, unlike his family and chums who will scoff any revolting rubbish. All he wants to do is cook so when he pops out of the sewer by the famous Chef Gusteau's restaurant his mouth waters with delight. Colourful.
SURF'S UP (PG) As most of us suspected penguins invented surfing. Here a documentary crew follow the Penguin World Surfing Championship and take audiences behind the scenes to see the most amazingly dangerous displays. Great fun for all the family.
BRIDGE OF TERABITHIA (PG) Loner Jesse (Josh Hutcherson) hopes to prove himself in the school's running race, but is beaten by new girl Leslie (Annasophia Robb). Soon they become friends and create their own secret world of mystical creatures to help them cope with their lives. Gem for all the family.
ENCHANTED (PG) In the world of animation fairy Giselle falls in love with the prince whose evil mother is having none of it. So with black magic she hurls the frightened Giselle (Amy Adams) out of the animated world into modern day Manhattan. Perfect for girls.
SHREK THE THIRD (U) King Harold (voiced by John Cleese) is poorly and he hopes that Shrek (voiced by Mike Myers), as his son-in-law, will be his heir to the land of Far, Far Away. But Shrek isn't entirely comfortable in the castle environment. A vast improvement on the second Shrek.
MR. MAGORIUM'S WONDER EMPORIUM (U) When the 243-year-old eccentric Mr. Magorium (Dustin Hoffman) decides to bequeath his magical toy store to his insecure manager Molly (Natalie Portman), dark and ominous changes begin to happen at the amazing Emporium. Magically imaginative.
AUGUST RUSH (PG) Musically talented August (Freddie Highmore) was orphaned by circumstance and cared for by a mysterious Wizard (Robin Williams). Now he is using his talent to try to find his parents from whom he was separated at birth. Delightful tearjerker.
BEE MOVIE (U) Barry (voiced by Jerry Seinfeld) is a bee who has just graduated from college, but is not into making honey. When on a trip outside the hive he discovers humans actually eat honey he decides to sue us. Educational and entertaining.
THE GOLDEN COMPASS (12A) In a world not dissimilar from our own, there is a ruling body called the Magisterium that forbids ideas that are not their own. A young girl called Lyra (Dakota Blue Richards) is unaware it is her destiny to change the world forever. Great acting, but lacks soul.
