TWO flags put up as part of Fairford Flag Festival were ripped down the very next day by vandals.
The town was decorated by 52 flags, representing the 52 nations being represented at this year's Royal International Air Tattoo last Thursday.
But on Friday morning, organisers discovered two had been torn down. One was recovered but the Austrian flag , which was attached to The Plough Inn, is still missing.
Fairford's inaugural flag festival last year also suffered misfortune when the flags soaked up a lot of rainfall and some of the flagpole holders snapped under the extra weight. They were replaced with sturdier flagpoles bought with a £750 grant from Gloucestershire Market Towns.
Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of the missing Austrian flag can contact the town council on 01285 712344.
