CIRENCESTER TOWN duo Lee Molyneaux and Matt Shaxton maintained their fabulous run in university football by helping Hartpury College to win the BUSA Mens Football Championship at QPR's Loftus Road ground on a sweltering Wednesday afternoon.
In a repeat of last year's final, Hartpury again beat Team Bath by a single goal, this time 2-1 instead of 1-0.
In fact, Team Bath must be getting sick of the competition as they have now lost in the final for the last four years.
So Hartpury's footballers have added the Cup Final to their success in the League.
What's more, Molyneaux and Shaxton, also helped the England Universities side to win the British University Games in Edinburgh last month.
Still hoarse form a night out celebrating in Gloucester, Hartpury captain Moly said: "We totally dominated the first half and should have scored more than our one goal from Steve Davies just before half-time.
"They went gung-ho in the second half with three strikers up front and pulled one way back.
"We always looked dangerous on the break, however, and then Rico (Marc Richards) scored the winner from the edge of the box late on.
"Apart from Cirencester being relegated, I have had a really good season with Hartpury's success and the England set-up has been brilliant. It's also a bonus to stay injury-free.
"Now the focus is on my exams over the next two weeks."
Though it has not yet been finalised, Moly is almost certain to return to Hartpury for another year.
"I have now finished my foundation degree and, depending on my exams, will probably go back to Hartpury to complete a BSc.
"One or two of the team are moving on, but there are others coming through to fill their places.
"As for Cirencester Town, that is up in the air at the moment, but the sooner it gets sorted out the better."
