The award winning CarKraft driver improvement scheme is now in its 15th successful year.

It was originally aimed at young drivers aged 15 to 24 years old but now includes licence holders of all ages from anywhere in the UK. It has helped to reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured in Northamptonshire to an all-time low.

Tutors running the events are all highly qualified motoring professionals. Each course is free of charge and offers drivers the opportunity to drive in simulated, challenging conditions in a range of Renault cars.

The free events run through the spring and summer at the Rockingham Motor Speedway and the Porsche Experience Centre in Silverstone.

“We are very pleased to be able to work with Renault UK,” said Keith Millard, a Road Safety Officer with Northamptonshire Highways, “and their continued support with our award winning event has helped in a continuing fall in young driver casualty numbers in Northamptonshire in 2016. There are a few driver places left for this Saturday’s event and we would encourage anyone interested in improving their driving skills to book a place”.

CarKraft event calendar begins this Saturday at Rockingham and then Sunday, April 23, at Silverstone, returning to Rockingham on Saturday, June 10, Sunday, September 24, in Silverstone and finishing on Saturday, October 21, back at Rockingham.
