Where do you dream of living?
New or old? - That is the question.
Having had the privilege of living and working in one of the most beautiful parts of England for over 30 years I often take for granted the delights that the Cotswolds have to offer.
Some of the attractions that draws purchasers to the area are of course the lifestyle, the excellent schooling and the commutability that it offers.
Renowned for its exquisite vistas, the Stroud Valleys offers property for all tastes, including a large selection of period properties that enjoy the views and the tranquillity. However, the fact is that however much of a draw they are, they can become quite a ‘money bucket’ in terms of maintenance, high-energy bills and if they are listed, any updating or complete renovation projects become even trickier.
Could purchasing a new home be the answer? Okay, I hear you say, but I do not want to live on some huge estate, which resembles a concrete jungle! However, this image is certainly not in keeping with some of the current new home developments on offer in and around the Cotswolds, especially in the Stroud Valleys.
Some of the benefits of purchasing a new home can include being able to purchase off plan, and the ability to influence the interior design scheme of your dream home. Low maintenance, energy cost savings, a 10-year warranty, advanced technology and design as well as being chain free are all great benefits of buying new. In fact, the list goes on and is all positive, especially if the development is built by some of the best house builders in the U.K.
