Savills Rural lends support to JET training programme

Professionals from Savills Food & Farming business have lent their support to a training programme for young agriculturalists from the southern counties.

Run by the John Edgar Trust (JET), a Hampshire-based charity dedicated to helping people in southern England achieve their potential in farming and rural enterprises, this year’s training course offers a hands on approach to rural business management, leadership, taxation & law, people management and media management among other things.

Jon Dearsley of Savills Cirencester and Simon Blandford, based in Winchester, delivered seminars to the students during 2016 and have committed themselves to the programme once again in 2017.

Jon Dearsley, who himself benefited from the JET programme in 2012/13 comments, “As a charitable organisation, JET is committed to providing training for young agriculturalists in the region where it might otherwise fall short. The organisation relies on volunteers from the industry to offer an insight into current practices and real life case studies. We are delighted to be lending our support in this way.

“Having experienced first hand the benefits that this programme can bring, it is a privilege to now be passing on my own experience to others.”
