WE ARE experiencing a typically busy autumn market with all offices reporting good activity across the Cotswolds and the Vale of the White Horse and the number of people considering moving has increased year on year by about 20 per cent.

The number of new properties being brought to the market is however quite similar, and viewing numbers are very slightly up on levels last year for the same period.

This suggests the post Brexit era in the last three months hasn’t really changed peoples’ motivation, and overwhelmingly evidence would suggest that if people need a larger house, or a smaller house perhaps, then that doesn’t really change, almost regardless of what’s happening within the economy.

It is probably fair to say that buyers are now viewing more properties before making a decision, so sales in the last three months are slightly lower as the market realigns and settles into the autumn.

Inevitably the market is always a balance of supply and demand; values can rise or fall in the short term, but overall tend to increase.

The price difference also needs to be considered and the reason for moving.

Perhaps it is easy for us to say, but what’s really important is the cost to move ie, if upgrading, the price difference, or how much cash is released if downsizing.

Many of our clients feel now is a good time to move and are helped considerably with the way that we look after them.

We were delighted again to be awarded in all of our offices the ‘Best Estate Agent in our Area’*; this is now three years running, showing the exceptional service and marketing we provide.

Experience matters and anyone looking to move should contact their local Perry Bishop and Chambers’ branch.
