TRADITIONALLY August is one of the quietest months of the year as it coincides with the peak holiday period. In light of Brexit and the nation’s huge interest in the Olympics one might have expected very little activity during the month.

It is therefore good to be able to report that despite pessimistic comment in the media and by some property pundits about the market, we have experienced an excellent month for sales.

The Perry Bishop and Chambers offices at Cirencester, Cheltenham, Tetbury, Nailsworth and Faringdon are well on their way to exceeding their sales targets for the month with a few days to spare.

What do we put that down to, you may ask?

At Perry Bishop and Chambers we know it is essential to be proactive when marketing our clients’ homes.

By ensuring we offer the best marketing, professional photography and maximum exposure in the local press, and with well-trained, experienced local staff, we are not just waiting for the telephone to ring as some agents do, or responses to the property portals as web-based agents have to do.

All of our teams are constantly on the phones telling registered applicants about new instructions, price reductions and incentives that might be available from new homes developers. This enthuses people to go and see the houses for themselves and this achieves more sales.

The new homes market has been especially strong during August. With a number of exciting new projects due to have show home launches in the autumn, buyers are keen to get in first and reserve their chosen plot.

This has proved to be the case across all market sectors including detached houses at Nailsworth, Fairford and Tetbury, as well as retirement cottages at Shrivenham and apartments in Cirencester. We are currently advising several more developer clients concerning their new sites across the Cotswolds that will come to the market later in the year, and it pays to keep in regular contact with our offices so as to ensure you are the first to hear details.

We are confident that the next few months will be busy. The Stock Exchange has recovered, the pound appears stable and interest rates have been further reduced by the Bank of England. We traditionally sell more houses in September, October and November than at any other time of the year and see no reason why this should not be the case this year.

If you are thinking of selling, we would be delighted to offer a free market appraisal. At Perry Bishop and Chambers we have an optimistic glass half full attitude, which we would be delighted to share with you.
