WE ALL have our own thoughts on school holidays, I have children of school age and the holidays are definitely getting longer not shorter the traditional, September 1, return is this year the 5th!

Suddenly this week getting to appointments is proving an experience in its own right as parents and grandparents are all in cars clearly keen to get out of the house and entertain, but equally Stroud is busy I have come back from appointments and not been able to park in my usual spot!

For us it is all positive with lots of people coming in the office to pick up details, register and book valuations in readiness for the traditionally busy Autumn market.

Viewing levels are good as people are off work and actually have the time to view property and involve all the family, likewise August has seen a significant increase in enquiry levels.

Right now I see a very positive market and property at the right price is selling.

The drop in the interest rate can only be good news for buyers and sellers.

There is still caution as we as a nation face new times ahead, but the reality has sunk in that changes will take years not weeks and if you need to sell you can’t wait years.

The growing child won’t stop growing and will need that bigger bedroom, the need to be in catchment for the right school is time ticking and moving for that exciting new job opportunity are all still happening right now.

The housing market never seems to stand still any more due to so many modern lifestyle factors.

Autumn and pre-Christmas have in the past few years been our most successful sales months, we find property that has not sold over the summer will attract new interest from new people searching and the properties coming to the market are lucky to have the advantage of buyers who didn’t quite find the right property over the summer months and are still very actively searching in the hope of being in for Christmas.

There are 20 Saturdays until Christmas so 20 weeks of prime selling time for us as agents.
