THOUSANDS of portraits of top 1980s glamour models by the acclaimed photographer Philip Raymond-Barker will be going under the hammer in the Cotswolds.

The full colour slides and contact sheets feature big names from the world of glamour modelling, including Page 3 girls Samantha Fox – who was announced as a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother – along with Kathy Lloyd, and Sir Paul McCartney’s ex-wife Heather Mills.

The photographs – which range from sexy semi-nude and lingerie shots to playful portraits – were taken at Raymond-Barker’s London studio in the mid 1980s.

The images of Fox, Lloyd and Mills will be sold with an estimate of £100 to £150, although the auctioneers admit they are unsure just how high bidding could go.

Bids of between £300 and £500 are expected for the the bulk of the glamour photographs, which will be auctioned by Moore Allen & Innocent in Cirencester on Friday, August 12.

Auctioneer Philip Allwood said: “These photographs are more than 30 years old, but the models still attract a fervent following, and we’re expecting a lot of interest from their fans.

“Interest in Samantha Fox, particularly, will be greater now that she has entered the Big Brother House.”

“Raymond-Barker shot the models for glossy European publications. Many of these images will never have been published in the UK – and some may never have been published at all.”

The auction house is also selling ephemera from Raymond-Barker’s studio, with model directories – including copies of Top Models and Penny’s Model Book – from the 1970s (estimate £50 to £80), and photography equipment including studio lights and camera tripods (£50 to £80).

Portraits of a far more modest variety – but still featuring big names from the world of entertainment during the 1980s and 1990s – will be offered for sale with an auctioneer’s estimate of £50 to £80.

More than 100 autographed publicity shots, amassed by a single collector over many years, include musicians Elton John, Cliff Richard, and the Spice Girls; comedians Victoria Wood, Mel Smith, and Ronnie Barker; actors Edward Woodward, Joan Collins, and Glenda Jackson; and the entire main casts of TV soap operas EastEnders, Casualty, and ER – including the signature of pre-Hollywood era George Clooney.

Finally, the residual contents of the Bibury Court Hotel – which has been bought as a private residence – will be sold in September – but some lots are already at the saleroom for viewing.

The contents of the 18 bedrooms – where a night’s stay cost in excess of £800 – along with furniture from the communal areas and gardens will be sold at the general sale on Friday, September 23.

But already on site for viewing are some of the contents of the garden, including stone trough planters (£100 to £150 per pair), stone bird baths (£100 to £150 per pair), a pair of cherub statues on plinths (£100 to £150), and wooden garden benches (£50 to £100).
