Monthly Auction Sale, Saturday, January 16, 2016

Royal British Legion Hall, Bourton-on-the-Water

THE first Tayler and Fletcher Auction Sale of 2016 was yet another very busy affair despite the high winds and torrential rain throughout the day.

Although a smaller sale than normal for a Saturday there was great activity for the lots offered and the majority of items found new owners.

Jewellery seemed to be the main interest of the day with a pair of magnificent black opal and diamond earrings going for £825, a 14 carat white gold and amethyst bracelet and a 14 carat white gold and amethyst bracelet both selling for £380 each, a 14 carat white gold channel set diamond bangle selling for £360, a nine carat gold bangle having a clasp set with 15 diamonds which sold for £270, and an 18 carat white gold pink sapphire and diamond cluster ring which sold for £250.

The remainder of the high sellers concentrated mainly on furniture with two items from Bright’s of Nettlebed being the highest earners with a very fine quality solid oak Refectory style dining table selling for £1,425, a good mid 18th century style oak dresser base at £380 and a mahogany inlaid Carlton House style writing desk at £300.
