A BUDGENS shop in Cirencester has been shortlisted for a national award for 2015.

Budgens, the national grocery brand, hosts the Store of the Year competition annually and the contest always has a high number of entries, with this year seeing the most entries received to date.

The awards are based on the shop's customer service, store standards and product availability.

Stores were judged in four categories including best large store, best medium store and community store of the year.

Cirencester's New Quarry Budgens, based near Love Lane industrial estate, was shortlisted as best small store, along with two other Budgens elsewhere in the UK.

The final round of judging will take place in May and winners will be announced in September.

Each category winner will receive a trophy and £1,500. The overall store of the year winner will receive a grand prize of £3,000.
