A HOTEL in Lower Slaughter has taken on a new executive head chef.

Lower Slaughter Manor, near Bourton-on-the-Water, has welcomed new chef Nik Chappell who started at the hotel earlier this month.

Nik has won awards, including four AA rosettes during his time at restaurant L’Ortolan and holds a reputation for creating exciting fine dining menus.

CEO Andrew Brownsword Hotels Jason Carruthers said he was delighted to welcome Nik to the hotel.

"We are looking forward to our guests enjoying his excellent dishes," he said. "With great ambition and working with his dedicated and successful kitchen team, we’re excited to see Nik’s menus and look forward to hearing the feedback from our guests."

Also this month, general manager at Slaughter's Country Inn Stuart Hodges will take on the extra role of general manager at Lower Slaughter Manor.
