BUSINESSES will be teeing off as a team, as a new company sets to bring working professionals together through playing golf.

Lee Simpson and James Gabriele, both from Cirencester, will launch Business Driver at Manor House Golf Club in Castle Combe with the simple aim of hosting regular golf days where business leaders can network.

Lee, who runs Origin Photographic, said the concept had come about because of the amount of work he had picked up through networking on the fairways.

“I play golf quite a lot but I also went to a few business breakfast meetings to network and came up with the idea of combining the two,” he said.

“I approached James and together we created Business Driver.”

The launch event will feature 18 holes of golf as well as lunch with companies already having signed up including St James’s Place, Barclays, VW, and more. It will be raising money on the day for The Battle Back Programme, a military charity designed to introduce injured service people to sports and other activities, slowly returning them to a normal active lifestyle.

“We’re hoping to get some members signed up there and then on the launch day,” added Lee. “Those who join pay a membership fee for the year and will then be invited to play on six of the best golf courses in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.”

Members will be able to meet monthly on one of the chosen golf courses where they can chat with like-minded professionals and network in a friendly, relaxed environment.

The launch day is at Manor House Golf Club in Castle Combe on Friday, May 23.
