A Spring clean for your body!

It's a familiar feeling, Spring is just around the corner yet we're still covered up in layers of clothing hoping that the effects of Christmas overindulgence will miraculously disappear.

So it's time to take action. As the new season approaches a Spring clean for the body as well as the house is in order.

This is a great time to take advantage of a range of products that work from the inside out and may help shrug off winter weariness.

A detox is the natural place to start in any cleaning programme, but if days of fasting don't appeal try combining a lighter healthier diet with the exclusive Purelogicol Collagen Body Supplement (£29.99). This provides collagen and amino acids to cleanse and detoxify the body while starting the process of regeneration. This in turn helps reduce frown lines and crows feet which should result in a healthier, glowing complexion.

Reputedly a favourite of celebrities such as Kirstin Davis and Madonna, the supplement can also be used in conjunction with a Face Mask (£44.99 for 12 applications) and Purelogicol Face Serum (£39.99) to focus on the face tissues.

If swapping from extreme cold to warm dry atmospheres has left your skin red, dry or sensitive there is an alternative to continual moisturising. Qarma from Equazen (£7.99 for 60 capsules) is the first organic Evening Primrose Oil to be certified by the Soil Association on the UK market. The seed used to produce the oil is completely clean from chemicals or pesticides and claims to be highly effective in aiding skin rehydration.

Clues to how the body is on the inside can also be seen on the outside. Broken and brittle nails can also be a sure sign that the body is crying out to be taken care of. Giving your nails some attention not only helps repair winter damage but is also a great Spring boost. A good manicure and pedicure can also be beneficial if joints are stiff or circulation is poor.

The Spa Manicure offered by Quenington nail salon, Gloss is a citrus-based treatment just right for Spring. Also try the Spa Pedicure with the addition of aloe vera paraffin wax treatment for intense moisturising.

The AHA Sea Scrub contains quartz crystals and beach sand for gentle exfoliation with the added aromatherapeutic benefit of peppermint oil. Already popular with many celebrities, the Creative Nail Design products used at Gloss were recently seen on the nails of Kate Moss in a photoshoot for London Fashion Week.

But if you're still not inspired to take action, run a bath and make your new season's beauty plans in Comfort and Joy's wonderfully named 'The Morning After the Night Before'. Compared to bathing in Alka Seltzer this organic reviving bubble bath should do the trick in inspiring your very own Spring clean.
