NEWLY promoted Cirencester Rugby Football Club have announced that Gregg Bayliss is its new coach.
He has replaced Myles Ferris, who has returned to his native New Zealand.
Bayliss, 27,is a full-time rugby professional employed as the Rugby Football Union's development officer for North Gloucestershire. His previous coaching roles were at Bredon RFC, Nailsea and Backwell RFC, Bristol Shoguns Academy and Bristol Schools.
This season, he has been responsible for the county under-17s squad and is about to start an RFU level three coaching course.
Like Ferris, his philosophy is biased towards "total rugby" and he is up to date with new coaching ideas.
He has visited Cirencester's Whiteway ground many times to watch matches, senior and colts training and to meet the club's committee.
Bayliss will introduce himself to the club's players and members in the coming weeks.
A club spokesman said: "The committee welcome Gregg on board as club coach and wish him well taking the first XV into Gloucester Premier next season, plus the second XV and third XV into their respective GRFU Merit Tables."
