Monty python collaborator's tour hits Swindon

AN INSIGHT into the weird and wonderful world of Monty Python collaborator will be given on Friday, March 31, at 8pm as the performer brings his new music show, Ego Warriors, to Swindon's Arts Centre.

Neil Innes began his musical career with The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band and his early hit I'm the Urban Spaceman topped the UK charts in 1968.

The Bonzos also featured in the innovative children's TV series, Do Not Adjust Your Set, with Michael Palin, Terry Jones, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, and Neil later joined forces with Monty Python on albums, films and concert tours before teaming up with Eric Idle in Beatles parody The Rutles in the '70s.

In 2004 the Rutles played the Glastonbury Festival to huge acclaim and later Neil took his one-man show, Innes Own Words, on a two-month tour of America visiting virtually every state.

In August 2005 Neil took his one-man show - Ego Warriors - to the Edinburgh Festival. Ego Warrior, enjoyed a three-week residency in New York last autumn and is touring the UK this spring before returning to the States for a full tour later in the year.
