PUPILS at a Cirencester school have been enjoying an active time as part of a week-long health programme.
More than 850 students at Kingshill School began their school day with a popular aerobics work-out led by PE teacher Andy Hary.
All PE lessons have been centred on fitness tests all week and other areas of the curriculum have also focused on health issues such as a breakfast survey in Maths and in Languages -posters for healthy living.
The evening programme, which has been open to parents and the local community, has been very successful offering a range of health related classes including "food for healthy living" led by Jonathan Richardson, head chef at Relish delicatessen, yoga, pilates, Indian head massage and an interactive talk on drugs by Tony Francis from Gloucestershire Healthy Schools Team.
Matt Pauling, director of sport at Kingshill, said: "We are extremely pleased with the response from the parents pupils and the local community and hope that we have raised awareness on a range of health issues."
