Second victory year on the trot at Crufts

TOP dog Magic waved his wizard's wand at Crufts again this week, taking home two prizes at the world-famous dog show.

Lechlade trainer Anthony Clarke, who is just 14, was jumping for joy after his six-year-old Border Collie/Belgium Shepherd won Young Kennel Club Agility Dog of the Year and the Young Kennel Club Jumping Show.

And on Monday Anthony also featured on Blue Peter as part of its coverage of the Birmingham show.

The Farmor's School student said: "I was just over the moon when I found out I had won two awards. I didn't feel as nervous this year as I did last time."

Anthony has competed in the junior section of Crufts three times before and last year he won the Agility Dog of the Year.

The youngster has been training dogs since he was about six and has always been surrounded by animals.

But training for Crufts is hard work and requires hours and hours of training to compete alongside 24,000 dogs from around the world.

Anthony said: "I will definitely give Crufts a go again next year. Magic always wants to please - I think we have built up confidence and trust in each other."
