Arch subject for Cirencester snappers

CIRENCESTER Camera Club's fourth photographic competition of the season took place last Monday on the subject of arches.

The competition saw a huge amount of interest by local photographers and Katie Platt ARPS had a difficult time selecting the winning images.

The standard and quality of prints was described as superb with the winner of the Set Subject print being Michael Curtis with an unusual view of the 'Arch de Triumph' in Paris.

The winning slide in the set subject was taken by Albert Taylor with 'Bridge of' while the open slide and print competitions were won by Mike Curtis for 'Cumbrian Lakeside' and Bill Guilford for 'Winter'.

The Judge Katie gave more Highly Commended and Commended awards than we have seen recently boosting the clubs portfolio of quality images.

The club's next competition takes place at the end of February when the subject will be Fascinating Faces.

The full diary of evens can be seen on the camera club website at www.cirencestercameraclub.org.uk

The club meets at 7.30pm every Monday at the Bingham Hall, King Street, Cirencester and new members and visitors are welcome to come along.
