Local company to help web starters

A CIRENCESTER web design company is helping businesses in the Cotswolds get ahead on the net.

The experts at 310k Internet Solutions are offering their advice to companies looking to get their hands on up to £2,000 towards expanding into e-business.

The money comes from the South West Regional Development Agency's grant to Business Link Gloucestershire and aims to encourage more business to get web-friendly.

310k are the first web design company in Cirencester to get accreditation from Business Link Gloucestershire.

Marketing director Simon Musgrove-Wethey said: "This is an excellent scheme that can make a real difference to businesses on the cusp of selling on-line or upgrading to e-Business.

"It's quick and simple to apply for a grant, with a decision usually made within five days. Businesses are safe in the knowledge that only professional companies like 310k, who have gone through the whole accreditation process, can supply Internet solutions using these grants."

Companies or organisations accepted for a grant can only use an Internet Solutions Provider, like 310k Internet Solutions that has been through the Business Link accreditation process.

Simon explained businesses applying for funding may be those looking to improve websites with online shopping or are looking for a way of marketing products online.

He said 310k has already helped one Cirencester company get a grant towards developing its website.

Crocodile in The Woolmarket was awarded the full £2,000 available and 310k are now helping four more local businesses with their grant applications.

Peter Stringfellow, owner of Crocodile, said customers had increasingly been commenting on how useful it would be if they could browse his shelves in the comfort of their own home before visiting the shop.

He commented: "310K has a lot of experience in retail trading websites which seems to be the growth area in retailing.

"Businesses need to get on it and we need expert technical advice on how best to develop it."
