Brian Hughes talks to Standard (Jan 19)

WE didn't have a match at the weekend so I used the time off to go and watch a couple of games and assess some players.

I probably wouldn't sign these players for this season but we're going to have a committee meeting at the club to discuss how we want to take Cirencester Town forward.

We therefore need to know what's out there and decide upon the type of people we want to bring in.

It's unlikely there'll be any new signings until the end of the season. The squad will probably remain the same until then.

We were frustrated about losing to Northwood and had a particularly strenuous training session afterwards, which is something we haven't had for a while because we've been training.

We're as confident as ever.

We've got 17 games left, or something like that, and we've targeted the ones we think we can get something out of.

It's tight at the bottom of the league.

There are enough games left and enough points remaining to pull away from the relegation zone.

We've got to play four of the bottom five teams in the league.

If we don't beat them we deserve to go down.
