Star wrestlers to perform in Cirencester

GRAPPLING fans are getting ready to rumble when wrestling returns to Cirencester with a brand new look later this month.

Top UK matchmakers Premier Promotions have lined up a star-studded bill for the show on Saturday, January 21, which will include a host of top names of the ring never seen before at the Corn Hall.

They include high-fliers such as The UK Kid from America and PWF title-holder "Flying" Phil Powers, plus legendary stars of the grappling game such as former world champion Steve Grey and European title-holder Mal Sanders.

The highlight of the show will be an all-in American Rumble where the last man left standing is crowned the king of the ring.

Two wrestlers start the action, the others join in at 60-second intervals, and then it's a fight to the finish in which the wrestlers can only be eliminated by being thrown out of the ring over the top rope.

Among the other contenders for the title will be The Masked Emperor, Andy Boy Simmonz, Cheltenham bouncer Matt Jarrett and Cirencester's own star, Kenny Gardner.

The show includes tag team and solo bouts as well as the big climax.

The 'American Rumble' opens its doors at 7.15pm with the show starting at 7.45pm. Tickets are available at Cirencester Visitor Information Centre.
