Dean Close host classical musicians

PLUCK are Sian, Jon and Adrian. They are all trained classical musicians (cello, viola and violin respectively), and although they met in conventional music circles, they share an unusual desire to do more than just play the instruments that they've spent so long learning and perfecting.

In pluck, they are taking their classical skills in a new direction with cabaret, comedy, and theatre.

Pluck's aim is to keep music live, and keep it real. Their belief is that the musical presentation they've devised can appeal to all, and their aim is to demonstrate that as widely as can be. This means performing as much as possible and in doing so creating thousands of happy memories.

Their work is necessarily versatile. From performing musical comedy theatre shows to providing music for events, to street performing all over the world, pluck are keen to stretch the boundaries of where string music fits in to people's lives.

Since pluck was formed in 2002, they have performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival every year, taken their Italiano show to Genoa, done corporate functions in the Tower of London and the National Portrait Gallery, played Ronnie Scotts in London, entertained children in schools, and interviewed the President of Slovenia in a boxing ring.

Professionally, they find it difficult to play seriously. No, seriously, they find it difficult to play professionally.

Sold-out in Edinburgh 2003 and Adelaide Fringe 2004! Witty, inventive string trio Pluck entertain with their infectious antics and superb musicianship.

They compete, ridicule, argue and seduce their way through Bach to Beatles. Join them for totally unpredictable musical arson at Dean Close School, Cheltenham on Friday, January 13 at 7.30pm! Telephone 01242 258002.
