Peter Pan plays in Swindon theatre

IN the Wyvern Theatre's Peter Pan audiences will join Peter and his friends Wendy, Michael, John, and Tinkerbell as they adventure to Neverland, a wonderful place, with forests and rivers, amazing beasts and a lagoon where mermaids play.

Here they'll battle to save Neverland and the Lost Boys from the pirates lead by the dashing but villainous Captain Hook who is terrified of nothing but a ticking crocodile: "He liked my hand so much, he's followed me ever since because he wants to eat the rest of me."

The Wyvern's Peter Pan has a huge cast with eight pirates and Indians, six Lost Boys, Peter, Wendy, John and Michael, Mr & Mrs Darling and Liza/Tiger Lily, Captain Hook and Smee, and finally Crocodile and Nana the dog.

The set is the largest that can possibly fit into the theatre. It is a remote controlled island that revolves from scene to scene - from underground home, to ship, to Indian encampment - so that there is never a black out, only continuous adventure.

Captain Hook will be played by Steven Pinder (Max Farnham in Brookside) and Peter Pan will be played by Daniel Boys who played Jack in last year's pantomime.

Peter Pan is produced by Daryl Back, Directed by Nick Ashton, Designed by Helga Wood, with Musical Direction by Mark Dickman, the team who brought you Jack & the Beanstalk last year.

This production promises an enormous set, stunning costumes, loads of audience participation and musical numbers second to none. Until Sunday, January 8. Box office 01793 524481.
