Pupils collect toys for the poor

PUPILS at one Cirencester school have been selling their toys to raise money for children who can't afford their own.

The student council at Cirencester Junior School decided they wanted to have their own fundraiser to run alongside the parent organised 'bring and buy' sale.

They collected 'Scoobies' to sell and ran a 'guess where the snowman's nose is' puzzle at the sale last week.

Teacher Nick Shepherd explained after talking to their classmates the council decided it wanted to raise money for the Red Cross.

He said: "They wanted to raise money for the children in Pakistan who won't have Christmas presents."

"We are really pleased with the responsibility they have shown and the way they have acted."
