World-Class service at new workshop

IF your Lamborghini needs a lick of paint or your Ferrari needs new wheels, a new Cotswold company is in pole position to help you out.

Having spent the last few years working as a mechanic on Fernando Alonso's Formula One Championship winning Renault, Neil Garner is branching out to bring world class engineering to everyone.

Neil's workshop in Kemble Business Park is full of reminders of his Formula One past with everything from seatbelts from the World champions' car to a pair of Fernando's shoes.

Although he retired from the team three months ago, Neil has fond memories of his time at Renault.

He explained: "I started off working with Fernando in the test team and moved with him when he went to the race team. I looked after Fernando and the car from the driver forward. It was my job to do his seatbelts up."

But after helping the team win the 2005 drivers' and constructors' titles, Neil has decided to set up on his own.

He said: "I left F1 on a high, I had a goal and I've always wanted to have my own business and this is my next goal.

"This business will be the best in quality of service and customer care and hopefully having a lot of F1 engineering history will put me in good stead.

"What I would really like to do is take customers away from the dealers." Using his contacts from the motoring world, Neil can offer unique personalised services. From quality re-sprays and race preparation packages, to engine tuning and even car storage.

One of his current projects is a Caterham7 in which he is fitting a new engine and bodywork.

With his sights firmly set on creating the perfect 'boys toys' to suit his customer needs, Neil is happy to cater for any motoring requirement.

In his garage alongside the Caterham, is a Lamborghini Diablo, which has recently finished the Cannonball Run and is in for tuning and another car which is being kept in storage for its owner.
