Pupils enjoy fancy dress day

YOU could have been forgiven for thinking you had walked into a fantasy world at Cirencester Infants School last week.

Boys were dressed as Batman, Peter Pan and Darth Vadar, while the girls sparkled as Cinderella and Snow White.

The fancy dress day was designed to raise funds for a school trip to see Sleepy Beauty next week.

But headteacher Vanessa Jenns says it was all really just an excuse for everyone to dress up.

She said: "The children had a fantastic time - they love dressing up and we had a special assembly where they got to show off their costumes. "The proceeds will buy little snacks for them to eat at the pantomime and it was a good excuse to dress up for the day."

Pupils at Cirencester Infants have also been busy filling up shoeboxes with toys and teddies to send to poorer countries in Europe. Mrs Jenns added: "It's our way of helping the children realise some children are not as lucky as they are."
