Sunflowers brighten Lea school

THE benefits of naturally grown crops have been bought to the attention of youngsters at Lea Pre-School thanks to a donation of organic sunflowers.

Children have been busy painting, drawing and making sunflower pictures thanks to the gift from Anna Ross.

Anna, who lives in Charlton, runs her own enterprise delivering fresh organic fruit and vegetables around the Malmesbury area.

She started the business, Green Cuisine, after taking over the deliveries of organic produce previously made by Malmesbury Wholefoods, when the business closed last year.

After adopting the shop's ten or so deliveries she then expanded it to its current number of just over 30.

The gift to Lea Pre-School is a way of increasing the awareness and benefits of organic produce among children.

"The sunflowers were grown naturally without using toxic chemicals found in pesticides which are often used in conventional growing methods," said Anna.

She also delivers organic fruit and vegetables to the school for the children's daily snack.

She added: "I would like to do it to more pre-schools because some of them do think about feeding their kids organic stuff."

Anyone interested in ordering organic produce from Anna should call her on 01666 824585.
