Southern League Premier Division
Cirencester Town 0, Mangotsfield Utd 3
CIRENCESTER Town failed to capitalize on their dominant first-half performance.
They were made to pay when Mangotsfield came out for the second half with all guns firing and grabbed maximum points to extend their unbeaten run.
Cirencester started brightly.
An angled shot from Gareth Hopkins brought a fine save from Danny Greaves and Lee Smith went close with a low shot.
Mangotsfield gradually got into the game.
Luke Prince's shot was deflected for a corner and, from Ellis Wilmott's cross, Alex Ball's header was only just over the bar.
Play was end to end, with crosses coming in that both keepers dealt with comfortably.
From a Shaun Wimble free kick, the loose ball fell to Michael Jackson whose first-time shot was not far off the target.
Midway through the half, Cirencester had their best chance when Smith's run finished with a fine cross into the box.
Hopkins' glancing header found Wimble at the far post but he fired over when well positioned.
Just before half time, the home team were unlucky again when, from a free kick 30 yards out, Steve Cowe hit a brilliant, curling shot that was destined for the top right-hand corner until Greaves somehow got a fingertip to the ball to push it round the post.
Mangotsfield were more fired up than Cirencester in the second half and Wilmott soon went close with a powerful shot.
On 50 minutes, Mangotsfield opened the scoring when Prince worked his way to the byline to send over a low cross that enabled Dave Seal to cleverly back-heel the ball over the outstretched Thompson.
Within five minutes, they were two up with a typical Seal goal.
Anticipating a headed back-pass from Adi Viveash, he nipped in to beat Thompson to the ball and slot home.
Cirencester fought to get back into the game but could not create clear-cut chances.
When they did have a shot on target, they found Greaves in splendid form.
On 75 minutes, Mangotsfield put the game beyond doubt when Ball's cross from the right found Rob Claridge, who volleyed home from 10 yards. Referee: C Henry (Northampton), attendance 239.
