LABRADORS have always been her favourite dogs and now she has the chance to work towards their welfare.
Lady Apsley, of Cirencester Park, has become the chairman of the Labrador Rescue Trust, a charity based in the South West.
She became involved in the charitable trust after one of three beloved Labradors became unsettled at home and needed to be re-homed.
She said: "I re-homed one of my Labradors when she started to get a bit tricky with our other dogs.
"They are my favourite breed and the trust was absolutely amazing. What is great about the charity is that they are all volunteers.
"All the money goes to help dogs as opposed to paying for a PR officer and staff or buying stupid little pens."
Lady Apsley, who is involved in several charities, is also keen to spread the work of the charity to other regions. Visit www.labrador-rescue.com
