Family panto at the Corn Hall

YOU'RE sure of laughter and adventure if you go down to Cirencester's Corn Hall on Tuesday, August 9 when The Panto Company give two performances of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Packed with songs, colourful costumes, comedy and audience participation, this show is a must for all the family.

Life is peaceful in the Enchanted Forest where Daddy and Mummy Bear (two of the world's most famous circus performers) have retired to raise their energetic son, Baby Bear, away from the pressures of show business.

Goldilocks lives with her stepmother, Baroness Sneer, who has bought the Enchanted Forest from her brother. But the Baroness has a secret: she collects fur coats and only needs one more to complete her wardrobe - a Baby Bear fur!

Goldilocks soon stumbles across the Bears' cottage and, after sampling their porridge and sitting in their chairs, falls asleep in Baby Bear's bed.

When the Bears return they quickly become firm friends with Goldilocks who invites Baby up to the castle to meet her stepmother - not the greatest idea, given the circumstances.

Can Goldilocks help Baby Bear to save his fur? What will Mummy and Daddy Bear do when they hear the news? and will the Baroness's comical butler, Velcro, help her to get the coat she has always wanted?

The Panto Company invites children to write all about Baby Bear's adventures. The stories can be as long or as short as needed and should be accompanied by drawings. The best stories will be picked out by Baby Bear Himself!

To enter, e-mail your story to babybear@thepantocompany.com or send it to The Panto Company, The Old Police Station, Front Street West, Bedlington, Northumberland, NE22 6HR to arrive no less than three days before the show. Include name, age and details of where you will be seeing Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

The winning stories will be published on The Panto Company's website (www.thepantocompany.com) and there are some great prizes to be won too.

The Corn Hall shows begin at 11am and 2pm. Tickets from Cirencester TIC on 01285 354180 or Swindon TIC on 01793 530328.
