CIRENCESTER Renault dealer Bridges has again bowled over the town's cricket club by continuing its sponsorship of £750 for the 2005 season.
Cirencester CC has used some of the money to buy a new set of cricket whites for the team, and are putting the remainder towards other expenses, including travelling to away matches.
The club boasts three senior teams and one junior team. The 1st XI, which play in the Glo'shire County Cricket League, have won two and lost five games this season with two matches being abandoned.
Chairman of Cirencester CC Brian Hudson, who is delighted with the sponsorship deal, said: "We are extremely grateful to Bridges for this generous gesture."
Club captain Andy Reynolds, employed by Bridges Renault Motor Group as a senior service advisor, said:
"The whole team is very proud to be wearing the club's new cricket whites, and we'll be doing our utmost to do them justice throughout the rest of the season."
Bridges of Cirencester's managing director, Terry Froud, commented: "It is important for local businesses such as Bridges to get involved in the local community.
"We are more than happy to continue the sponsorship with the cricket club as they form an integral part of the town.
"And we wish the club every success for the rest of the 2005 season."
