Malmesbury U10s win club's six-a-side tournament

MALMESBURY U10s became the first team from the club to win their own annual six-a-side soccer tournament on the weekend before last.

A tense, absorbing final against Swindon Soccer Skills U0s involved two very evenly matched teams. In an end-to-end action-packed tie, both sides created chances, but neither were able to score.

With the game still goal-less at full-time, it went into extra time and a Malmesbury side, sponsored by the town's Custom Transformers, then appeared to up the pace.

A ferocious shot from Will Picter, that seemed to have won the day for the local side, unluckily bounced back out after striking an upright.

The outcome came down to penalties with Ryan Wodecki saving the day with a vital stop. In a final played in spirited manner, it was a shame that there had to be a loser.
