Legendary rock show coming to Everyman

THE legendary rock opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, is coming to the Everyman from Monday 18 to Saturday July 30.

It exploded onto the musical scene in 1971 - stunning audiences and changing the face of musical theatre forever.

Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's rock opera tells the story of the last seven days in the life of Jesus through an extraordinary, groundbreaking score.

Using what many consider to be Tim Rice's finest lyrics, Jesus Christ Superstar the story is told through the eyes of Judas; convinced that Jesus is nothing more than just a man he agonises through Christ's ordeal and redemption, unable to find redemption of his own.

The production has a huge, energetic cast, dynamic brand-new staging and a team of 12 local children in every venue.

As compelling today as it was at its inception over 30 years ago, Jesus Christ Superstar, has some of musical theatre's most famous and captivating songs: I Don't Know How to Love Him, Everything's Alright, Gethsemane, and of course Superstar.

Produced by Bill Kenwright and the creative team behind numerous blockbuster musicals including Blood Brothers and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, this all new production of Jesus Christ Superstar tells the world's oldest story with astonishing theatricality.
