Village fete put on the spot

TONY Adams was on the ball when he turned out in support of his village's annual summer fair.

The former Arsenal and England legend hosted a penalty shootout and football workshop at the Coates Day celebrations, at the weekend.

And there were many other activities for villagers and visitors alike to enjoy on Saturday.

Revellers were treated to a three-match polo competition and an authentic Argentinian barbecue.

There was also a wide selections of stalls, while children were able to take part in a 'Gladiators' contest and enjoy the bouncy slides.

The Ultimate High donated a stunt flight as first prize in the raffle.

Money will go to the Cobalt Unit's Crack Cancer Campaign, the village church and schools and a number of other causes in and around the village.
