Art exhibtion marks historic anniversary

VISITORS to Tetbury's Market House had the chance to look at the building from new perspectives at a special art exhibition held last week.

As part of the 350th anniversary celebrations of the building, Tetbury artist Kay Adkins and Sir William Romney's School pupil Jess Lees decided to take a new look at the historic structure.

The photographic display was divided into two parts with Kay taking a look at the inside of the building and Jess examining the outside. The result was a detailed look at parts of the Market House which are sometimes not seen.

The Feoffees even allowed Kay special permission to take pictures of the Committee Room which holds a wealth of Tetbury artefacts.

Jess's work forms part of her A-Level coursework, she has been working closely with Kay and studying her photos as inspiration for her own.

The collaboration provided a great opportunity for both artists to work together and discover more about the ancient building in it's anniversary year.
