Youngsters sporting encouragement

HUNDREDS of children proved real good sports during special events at Cirencester's two secondary schools.

Youngsters and their parents attended sports fairs at Deer Park and Kingshill schools last week.

The sessions were designed to encourage children to become more involved in active pursuits.

The sports on offer at Deer Park ranged from football and cricket to karate and tae-kwon-do, while at Kingshill, even 'Aussie rules' football and circus skills were on offer.

Head of boys' PE at Deer Park Glenn Price said: "It was a great opportunity for children of all ages to find out more about what's on offer in their area and perhaps to take up a new sport."
