Sapperton pupils get creative with paint

CHILDREN at Sapperton Primary School got in touch with their creative side this week when they helped to create a giant wall hanging.

Every pupil in the school, from reception to year six, had the chance to take part in a special batik workshop where they made a huge piece of art based on the theme of creation.

Each child created a small design which was then turned into the final artwork by workshop organiser Mary Therese King.

On the day the children filled in the design using paint and wax. It will now form a focal point in the Blue Room where the school holds assemblies.

The event was organised the Everyman Theatre's outreach project which offers schools the opportunity to take part in a range of creative activities.

A spokesperson for Sapperton School said: "It was a great opportunity for the children to take part, especially the younger ones who don't normally get the chance to do things like this."
