Sausage fans raise money for school

SAUSAGE lovers had their taste buds tickled at a fundraising event in Northleach on Saturday.

Hundreds of people turned up at Castle's Yard throughout the day to enjoy some ten varieties of sausage to raise money for Northleach Primary School.

And it seems more than £650 was collected through donations and purchases.

Simon Reed, of the Northleach School Association, said: "It all went extremely well - we were so busy we ran out of bread and onions.

"We had ten varieties of handmade sausages from the butchers and we handed out a little leaflet with information about each kind."

This year the annual fundraiser was particularly organised to raise money for science projects at the school.

Mr Reed added: "The money is for staff and pupils at the school to undertake problem solving activities and investigations - it will support that work."
