THE Hollywood film 'Big Fish' starring Ewan McGregor was all about tall tales and 'the one that got away'.
But for Fairford fishmongers New Wave Seafoods it really is a case of landing a whopper after the company bought an 18-stone halibut.
The 112kg deep-sea monster was caught off the coast of Scotland and delivered to the Horcott Industrial Estate last Wednesday.
By now the eight-foot flatfish will have been cut into some 250 portions and hopefully turned a handsome profit for the Cotswold business.
Sales manger John Godden said: "It's the biggest fish we have ever had - the head alone must weigh more than five kilograms.
"It will make around 250 portions or maybe more, depending on the yield." To find out more about New Wave Seafoods, which has been based in Fairford since 1989, call 01285 715160 or visit www.new-wave.co.uk
