Antiques Show visits Chedworth

POPULAR daytime TV programme Flog It paid a visit to the Cotswolds recently.

An episode of the series, where antiques experts help members of the public identify unwanted valuables in their homes and help them to make the most of them at auction, was filmed at Chedworth Roman Villa.

Presenter Paul Martin was filmed at a variety of locations around the villa including the mosaics located in the dining room and bath houses.

Property manager Mark George was also interviewed for the programme and talked about what the property would have looked like at the time of the Roman occupation of Britain as well as the villas religious significance.

Mark commented: "It's a wonderful opportunity for the villa and its' fantastic mosaics to receive some coverage. This shows what an important site the villa represents."

And extra colour was added to the programme with an appearance by the Ermine Street Guard who performed a short piece about life in the Roman army which included a full battle charge.

The programme is due to be screened in June this year.
