TWO more people have been banned from Cirencester's pubs after being caught buying alcohol for underage drinkers.
Gemma Coombes and Craig McCafferty are the latest people to be added to the BOBS (Behave or Be Banned Scheme) list, which aims to keep troublemakers out of licensed premises.
Police are keen to clamp down on the problem of underage drinking in the town and are targeting over 18s who attempt to buy booze for youngsters.
And, at the latest BOBS meeting last week, landlords voted to exclude Coombes and McCafferty from member pubs for 12 months.
BOBS chairman Dave Watson said: "The police are very hot on this and brought it to our attention.
"I understand that both people have been spoken to by the police about these incidents."
Meanwhile, Mr Watson has renewed the BOBS warning to people on the list who attempt to flout their bans.
He says some people barred have been slipping through the net because staff don't know what they look like.
However, culprits could be in for a rude awakening when they think their time is up.
He added: "Some people are blatantly ignoring their bans and what they will find is that when their reviews come up, they'll have their bans extended.
"Because of their behaviour, even when their bans are finished, the establishments where they've been may not want them back anyway."
* Mr Watson and BOBS vice chairman Nigel Scrivens are stepping down after two years in their respective roles.
Members will vote for a new chairman and vice chairman at the next monthly BOBS meeting.
Mr Watson said: "I'm pleased with the way its gone. With the assistance of the Standard, we've been able to promote the scheme and explain how it works."
The full list of people currently banned from Cirencester pubs under BOBS is: Darren Short, Dean Goble, Lee Coleman, Richard Carey, Damian Walsh, Daniel McGann, Simon Gilbride, Neil Killick, Dave Woodward, Chris Wadley, Josie Cobb, Steve Pollard, Natasha Holder, Emma McGann, Richard Crocker, Natalie Ward, Darryl Van Der Ven, Mark Long, Marlon Woodward, Gemma Coombes and Craig McCafferty.
