Friends join forces for musical combo

THE perfect musical combination of two longstanding friends with careers stretching back to the early 1970s comes to the Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury on Friday, April 15 at 8pm.

Gloucestershire's multi-talented singer/songwriter Johnny Coppin and Mike Silver, whose amazing ability to sing and play the guitar in total harmony has meant that he has worked with many of the big names in music for over 30 years, combine their talents in a musical tour called Follow the Dream.

Well-known and much loved in his native county and far beyond, Johnny is singer/songwriter with the cult folk-rock band Decameron and is a composer and poetry anthologist as well as having his own Sunday afternoon show on BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

He has produced many albums and appeared at numerous festivals worldwide. He about to begin his UK tour, Edge of Day, his tribute to Laurie Lee.

Mike Silver has enjoyed success throughout the UK and around the world.

When based in the US he met John Lennon and they talked about Liverpool FC, but his talents were also recognised by big names like the Moody Blues.

Although his name has not been well known, he has appeared on albums by many artists and his songs are often covered by other performers, both live and on record.

He has recorded several sessions for BBC Radio and has taken part in many programmes for local radio stations.

Mike and Johnny's combined inspirational talent makes this a show not to be missed.

Tickets from the box office on 01684 295074.
