Blues festival strikes a chord

THE SECOND Stroud Easter Blues and Beyond Festival runs from today, (Thursday) to Saturday, March 26 at the Subscription Rooms and The Space.

Saturday night's concert at the Sub Rooms stars the legendary Dr Feelgood, with support from Chris James, and starts at 7.30pm

Not seen in Stroud since their storming Fringe Festival appearance in 2001, Dr Feelgood are considered THE R&B band in the UK. With hits from their catalogue including Back in the Night, Milk and Alcohol and

Down at the Doctors, they are guaranteed to get everyone boogying on the dance floor. With tickets already selling fast, this is destined to be one of Stroud's gigs of the year.

Chris James has a talent that demands to be heard on a grand scale.

Chris, who comes from Cumbria, plays a mean blues guitar, with a gifted technique and style. He draws inspiration from the great bluesmen of the past and delivers a set of authentic, raw acoustic instrumentals and songs.

The Festival also features Geoff Achison and the Souldiggers plus Mike Dowling and the Spikedrivers at The Space tomorrow (Friday).

Tickets from the box office on 01453 760990.
