BUDDING rugby players from across Gloucestershire descended on Kingshill School for a massive tournament on Tuesday.
More than 450 primary school players took part in the epic competition organised by Year 11 students at the Cirencester school.
The 16-year-olds were in charge of around 90 separate games of rugby, running three separate competitions and refereeing all the games.
Head of PE at Kingshill Matt Cow said: "It was awesome. The unique thing about the event was that the whole day was organised by 16-year-olds. It was really complicated to set up so many teams so we had varying competitions."
Cirencester Junior School, Amberley School, in Stroud, and Robinswood School, in Gloucester, were the three tournament winners.
And the victors have won a training session with England star Phil Vickery. Hempsted School, in Gloucester, Powell's School, in Cirencester, and Fairford School were the runners-up. They all took home new rugby balls.
Thanks went out to D&J Sports in Cirencester for supplying the whistles for the referees and all the businesses which donated prizes.
