Pupils enjoy new path facility

PUPILS have been whizzing around Fairford Primary School during their morning break thanks to a new scooter path.

The purpose-built facility has been paid for by the school's parent-teacher association (PTA) through various fundraising initiatives, and the young learners are delighted they now have a fun environment to use their toys.

Headteacher Jane Sparling said: "We encourage the children to scoot to school as the more exercise they get the better.

"About half of them use scooters in the summertime and they think the path is absolutely wonderful - the best thing since sliced bread. It cost around £4,000 and was paid for by the PTA, who are incredibly supportive of the school."

The enthusiastic fundraisers are now focusing their energies on raising enough money to buy interactive white boards for the school.
